THE FIRST FEW MINUTES

From box to
peace of mind.

Take your time. A careful setup is worth more than a fast one. Follow the official on-device instructions, and use this overview to know what to expect along the way.

01

Open the official start page

Type trezor.io/start directly into your browser, or use the official button on this page. Check the address carefully before continuing. Trezor Suite is the companion app used to manage your device; download it only through Trezor’s official website.

02

Connect and check your device

Connect your hardware wallet with its supplied cable and follow the on-device prompts. Install or update the device firmware when the official app requests it. A new device may arrive without firmware; this can be normal. Keep the device connected until the update completes.

03

Create a wallet and back it up

Choose the on-device option to create a new wallet, then carefully write down the recovery words exactly as the device displays them. Store this backup somewhere private and offline. Anyone with those words can access your funds, so never photograph, email, upload, or share them.

04

Set a PIN and verify the backup

Choose a PIN that is difficult to guess and enter it only on your device. Complete the device’s backup check before receiving assets. Your wallet is ready when the official app recognizes it and you can see its accounts. Send a small test amount before making a larger transfer.

KEEP THIS CLOSE

Your recovery words
are the master key.

Your recovery seed can restore your wallet if your device is lost or damaged. It is not a password reset code and no legitimate support agent needs to see it. Write it down by hand, keep it somewhere only you can access, and do not enter it into a computer, phone, website, or chat.

If a page, message, or person asks you to type in your words to “verify,” “synchronize,” or “unlock” your wallet, stop. Close the page and navigate to Trezor.io yourself. Only approve transactions you understand on the device screen.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few things
you might wonder.

Do I need to install anything?

To manage your wallet on a computer, you can use Trezor Suite. Get the app using only the official Trezor website, and follow the instructions shown by your device.

What if my device asks for a recovery seed?

Never enter your existing recovery words into a website or computer. If you are restoring a wallet on a new device, enter them only on the physical device and only when you initiated that recovery yourself.

Where should I get help?

Use the official support resources at Trezor.io. Do not trust unsolicited direct messages or search ads offering wallet support, and never share your recovery words with anyone.
